The core Documents group has one action, Create CSV from List. The PDF, Excel and Word actions come with add-ons.

Choosing an action

Action	What it does	Use it to
Create CSV from List	Writes the items of a list as CSV, to a .csv file or to a token.	Export a list for download, or build CSV text to send to an API.

Creating CSV

• File or token. Set Storage Location to File to save a .csv file in a portal folder, or to Memory to keep the CSV text in a token for the actions that follow.
• Getting the file to the user. The action doesn't send the file to the browser. Use Redirect to URL with the LinkClick URL token, or attach the file with Send Email.
• Allowed file extensions. DNN only saves file types that are allowed on the site. Turn on Ensure CSV file type is allowed in DNN File System. if csv isn't allowed yet.
• Don't add the extension yourself. .csv is added for you, so Contacts.csv ends up as Contacts.csv.csv.
• Loading the list. Load the data first with Create List from SQL or another Lists Objects action. In a listing, the action can also use the listing's rows.

Where did the other actions go?

The other document actions belong to add-ons. They still appear in the Documents group when the add-on is installed, and their pages haven't moved.
