Pauses execution for a set number of milliseconds before the next action runs.

Typical Use Cases

• Stay within an external API's rate limit, for example one call per second inside a Repeat loop
• Give an external system time to finish processing before checking the result, for example when polling for a job status
• Space out retries after a failed call

Don't use it to

• Schedule work for later. Use Automation jobs instead.
• Delay something in the user's browser. This action pauses on the server, so the user waits for the whole delay.

Considerations

• The request is held up. While waiting, the server thread is busy and the user's browser keeps waiting for a response. Keep waits short in forms and grids. For longer waits, put the actions in Execute Actions Asynchronously or an automation job.
• Timeouts. A long total wait, for example a wait inside a loop with many repetitions, can exceed the browser's or the server's request timeout.
• Invalid values don't cause an error. Check the value if the action doesn't seem to wait.
