Close Tabs Popup And Stop Execution

Audience: Low-code Engineers

Skill Prerequisites: Actions

Closes the popup of a Tabs module, then stops running actions. It's available in forms and listings when the Tabs module is installed. It isn't available in API endpoints.

The popup is one opened with Open Tabs Popup And Stop Execution or Open Tabs Popup And Continue Execution. The action can run from a form inside the popup or from anywhere else on the page.

ActionWhat happens after the popup closes
Close Tabs Popup And Stop ExecutionNo further actions run.
Close Tabs Popup And Continue ExecutionThe popup closes right away and the next actions keep running.

Typical Use Cases

  • Close a wizard popup from the Finish button of the form in its last tab
  • Close the popup from a Cancel button
  • Close the popup after a successful save, when there's nothing else to do

Don't use it to

Input Parameter Reference

ParameterDescriptionSupports TokensDefaultRequired
Select ModuleThe Tabs module whose popup to close. Pick it from the list, or click EXPR and enter an expression that returns the module's ID, for example [TabsModuleId].Yesempty stringYes

What happens when it runs

The server sends the instruction to the browser, and the browser hides the popup. No further actions run.

Closing only hides the popup. The page isn't refreshed, and the forms in the popup aren't reset. The next time the popup opens, the forms in its active tab are initialized again.

In Listings

On a listing button with Client Button turned on, use the client-side Close Tabs Popup action instead. It has the same parameter and closes the popup in the browser without a request to the server. See Item Buttons and Root Buttons.

Considerations

  • No error if it's already closed. If the popup isn't open, or the Tabs module isn't set to open as a modal, nothing happens.
  • Nothing else is refreshed. Listings or forms outside the popup keep what they showed. To update them, use the Continue version and add the actions you need after it.
  • Final action. Actions placed after it in the same list never run, unless its condition is false. Use the action's Condition to decide when to close the popup. See Common Parameters.

Examples

tip

To understand how to use the below examples, please see Running Examples.

1. Close the wizard from its last step

Add this action to the Finish button of the form in the last tab. It closes the Tabs popup whose ID is in the WizardModuleId token.

{
"Title": "Close Tabs Popup And Stop Execution",
"ActionType": "CloseTPPopup",
"Description": "Close the order wizard",
"Parameters": {
"ModuleId": {
"Expression": "[WizardModuleId]",
"Value": "",
"IsExpression": true,
"Parameters": {}
}
}
}

2. Close only when the order is complete

This action closes the popup when the Status token is Complete. Otherwise, the next actions run, for example a message about what's still missing.

{
"Title": "Close Tabs Popup And Stop Execution",
"ActionType": "CloseTPPopup",
"Description": "Close the wizard for complete orders",
"Condition": "\"[Status]\" == \"Complete\"",
"Parameters": {
"ModuleId": {
"Expression": "[WizardModuleId]",
"Value": "",
"IsExpression": true,
"Parameters": {}
}
}
}
