The Drawing add-on works with images on the server. It has one action, which makes a resized copy of an image, such as a small preview of a photo a user uploaded.

This add-on is the DnnSharp.Drawing package. It's installed separately and needs the DRAWING feature package in your license. If it isn't licensed, the action fails with a not-licensed error. If you don't see the action, the add-on isn't installed.

Choosing an action

Action	What it does	Use it to
Create Thumbnail	Saves a resized, optionally cropped, copy of an image in a portal folder and returns its URLs, path and file ID in tokens. The original isn't changed.	Create a profile picture, a square gallery thumbnail or a smaller preview of a large photo.

Things to know

• New file, same format. The thumbnail is always a new file with the original's extension. The action can't convert between formats, such as PNG to JPEG.
• Unique names. A file with the same name in the folder is overwritten. Include something unique, such as an ID, in Name.
• Web request needed. The URL tokens are built from the current page request. In workflows and scheduled jobs, which run as Automation jobs, the action fails after the thumbnail is saved.
